"Keine Shell explizit setzen" wirkt auf mich verquer. Sowohl die
Verneinung als auch das Wort "explizit" beziehen sich auf das Verb
"setzen". Im Englischen sind die Bezüge einwandfrei, "unless" und
"explicitely" beziehen sich auf "set" Daher:

"dynamisch zugewiesene Systemgruppe" finde ich weiterhin eine
umständliche, sperrige und schlechte Übersetzung. Denn das
"zugewiesen" bezieht sich vermutlich auf das "System"; also dass ein
Paket eine von der darin enthaltenen Software benötigte Systemgruppe
anlegt (und bei De-Installation wieder entfernt, daher "dynamisch")

Insfern würde ich allenfalls "dynamisch dem System zugewiesene Gruppe"
schlucken.  "dynamisch angelegte Systemgruppe" fände ich glatt und
verständlich.

Ich weiß nicht, ob Kräcks einen Grund kennen, von "non-system groups"
zu sprechen. "Normal user groups" oder "ordinary user groups" halte
ich für einen positiv umrissenen und damit verständlicheren Begriff.

danke, dass das seltsame "with no" hier einfach mit dem schlichten

Ich halte dieses FIXME für falsch und würde global verlangen:
s/non-optional argument/non-option argument

Denkanstoß:

Argumente sind alle einem Funktionsaufruf folgenden, durch leeren Raum
voneinander getrennte Zeichenketten. Somit enthält ein Aufruf

  adduser --gid 1002 seppl

auch zwei nicht-optionale Argumente. Dass der anzulegende Benutzername
"seppl" ein solches ist, dürfte unstrittig sein. Aber auch die Kennung
der primären Gruppe von Seppl, die Zahl 1002, ist ein nicht-optionales
Argument. Denn ohne sie ist die Option --gid sinnlos und erzeugt eine
Fehlermeldung.

Die Art und Weise, in der die Modi bezeichnet sind, halte ich für
ungünstig. Der hier erstgenannte Modus adduser meint "einfachen
Benutzer hinzufügen". Allerdings in Kombination mit der Option --group
ergibt adduser effektiv dem Befehl addgroup und somit sind wir in den
dritten Modus, nämlich Gruppe hinzufügen, geraten. Insofern hielte ich
für hier das Durchnummerieren (also Modus 1, Modus 2, ...) oder
irgendwelche Chiffren (mode u, mode su, mode g, mode sg, mode autg)
für besser.

Mir missfällt "set"/"setzen" in Zusammenhang mit der Belegung von
Variablen vom Typ String oder Zahl (und finde es nur bei Belegung mit
dem Wahrheitswert YES / 1 treffend).

Daher:

Auch der zweite Satz drückt vermutlich Lapidares auf eine Art aus,
durch die Benutzer die Bedeutung beim ersten Lesen gerade nicht
erfasst. Anders wäre es, wenn er lautete

B<adduser> übergeht die Abfrage dieser Information, falls diese Option angegeben ist.
oder
Die Abfrage dieser Information durch B<adduser> unterbleibt, wenn diese Option verwendet wird.

Erster Satz pflegt meines Erachtens (durch die Wortstellung) wieder
eine verquere Weise des Ausdrucks: Wird also passwd(1) zu einem
anderen Zweck als dem Setzen eines Passworts ausgeführt? Alternativen:

"unterdrückt den Aufruf von B<passwd>(1) zum Setzen eines Passworts."
"B<passwd>(1) zum Setzen eines Passworts nicht aufrufen."

Orignal meines Erachtens fehlerhaft
  s/the uid is chosen from/the numeric identity is chosen from
weil aus first/last GID Gruppenkennungen (nicht eine Benutzerkennung) entnommen wird.
