J'en pense que c'est égal entre "Faut-il " et "La gestion... doit-elle.." !
Je propose (puisque ça rentre) :
La gestion pour ${extname} doit-elle être ajoutée à
/etc/php4/${sapiconfig}/php.ini ?

Thank you for your translation. I do have one question, however, before
I apply this patch:

I notice that you've translated "should" as "faut-il". This seemed
strange to me, so I asked a native French speaker on IRC, who agreed
with me that "faut-il" is stronger than "should", and that a closer
translation for "should" would be "doit-il". Are there reasons why
"faut-il" would be used here instead of "doit-il"? Is this because of
length concerns, and the grammar problem of having ${extname} at the
beginning of the sentence?
Since the variable names are longer than any of the possible
substitutions, it seems to me that something like the following could
work with no danger of word wrapping:
La gestion pour ${extname}, doit-elle être ajoutée à
/etc/php4/${sapiconfig}/php.ini ?
which in the longest case would become:
La gestion pour Sybase, doit-elle être ajoutée à /etc/php4/apache2/php.ini ?
Of course, I'm not a native speaker, so I may be missing something (or
the grammar in my suggestion may be totally wrong). If you feel that
"faut-il" is still the best available translation here, please tell me
so.
