Well, that transition doesn't seem to have got very far yet.

Leaving it out entirely, so it's just:
The IGTF maintains a common trust base [...]
wouldn't be very friendly for people doing searches on the old name.
(And people would wonder why it didn't expand the abbreviation, and
Google would leave them assuming you were just lazy.) I was thinking
we could do something like
The Interoperable Global Trust Federation (formerly the
International Grid Trust Federation) maintains a common [...]
but if the second version isn't going to last long either then maybe
it should be something along the lines of
The IGTF (AKA/originally/formerly the International Grid Trust
Federation) maintains [...]
