As in "rheostat" and various unpleasant forms of "-rhea"! I suspected
that, but it wasn't until after I'd sent this that I realised it was
exactly the sort of thing people use Finite Element analysis for.

But is the "L" for "logiciel", or "library", or is it a leftover from
"rheology"?
Over the past couple of days I've been collecting some attempted
explanations for cryptic Debian package names on the wiki at
http://wiki.debian.org/WhyTheName - now I can add rheolef.
