I think that you should use UTF-8 encoding characters when writing in Arabic. Four your existing files, try to open them with their own encoding, otherwise, you'ill have some problems to open/save them.

I have a problem opening arabic text files by gedit,
the arabic characters aren't showed
i tried to use "katoob" the arabic text editor, the characters are showed well,
but when i tried save the text files the Program Said "I wasn't able to convert the encoding" what shall i do???
