If you mean your KPackage may be broken or something, you can reinstall it: apt-get install --reinstall kpackage or remove it prior and choose --purge option to clean config files too. But IMHO most front-ends for apt-get (or dpkg) limp in some way, and to avoid trouble, stick to command line for all purposes.
