[debian-knoppix] Booting KNOPPIX from NFS-exported ISO-Images
Hi,
I've written some scripts that generate a miniroot similar to the images
created by knoppix-terminalserver, but with main diffrence that the
ISO-Image does not need to be loopback mounted on the NFS Server.
You can find the scripts and images for KNOPPIX_V3.3-2003-11-19-DE.iso
here: http://www.stud.uni-karlsruhe.de/~ux89/knoppix-mirrorboot/
This is useful when you have a Server (which does not run knoppix) and
want to boot Clients with PXE over Network, but don't want to loopback
mount knoppix images on the Server.
The script only produces a miniroot, configuring dhcp, tftp, pxelinux,
nfs and a knoppix mirror is up to the user.
Ideally, Klaus Knopper could run this script after a release and put the
mirrorboot-images on the knoppix mirror, so users can boot from a local
mirror without having to create new images after a new release.
Anyway, I hope somone will have fun with it.
Bye,
Christoph
