To run a THIN client shouldn't be a big task. 

on the server: 
  start the normal terminal server
  start kdm/xdm/... with XDMCP
  maybe add user01 - user30 with empty passwords..

on the client:
  boot normal (like the FAT client)
  don't start X normal, but make a 'X -broadcast' or a 'X -query SERVER'
