Re: [debian-knoppix] Newbie ideas

Hello Carsten,

That's not exactly what you want to do, but maybe it is usefull for you:

http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Swap-Space.html

It is not this. But behaviour like that is:

Bootup:
	if exists windows\win386.swp or pagefile.sys
	rm -i windows\win386.swp pagefile.sys
	let knoppix.swp = pagefile.sys or win386...
	than create swap files with such names as default.

Problem is that for some users win386.swp takes almost all free space on hdd, and thus automatically created knoppix.swp cannot be so huge. And another problem is than you have to delete knoppix.swp by hand, which means that if I remove pagefile.sys, than create knoppix.swp on free space, windows 2k will not boot at all - reason - no free swap!

If it will be done my way, windows will overwrite pagefile.sys with own contents, as knoppix too. No console magic, no questions why this W2k does not start when I forgot to remove swap file.

Thanx.

Tomek

BTW, still no ideas how to manage first problem?
