Knoppix uses the
hda=scsi hdb=scsi ...
boot options in syslinux.cfg on the el torito bootfloppy.
If your CD-Rom does not work with SCSI emulation, you probably can
switch that off by boot options as well, but I don't know exactly how.
Maybe the "failsafe" option would work.
