Aus seinem DOS-Source entstanden dann viele andere Ports fuer verschiedene Plattformen, darunter Unix (damals von Galen Hazelwood <galenh@micron.net>). Damals war Frotz unfrei. Mittlerweile wird Frotz aber von Jim Dunleavy <jim.dunleavy@erha.ie> and David Griffith <dgriffi@cs.csubak.edu> betreut, letzterer hat auch den Unix-Port unter seinen Fittichen. In der Debian war lange Zeit nur Frotz 2.32 (non-free) enthalten. Erst vor kurzem (in Debian-Zeitrechnung) wurde auf 2.40 upgegraded. Zumindest der Debian-Maintainer ist gewissenhaft und hat erkannt: ----- Ausschnitt aus debian/changelog ----- frotz (2.40-1) unstable; urgency=low * New upstream release. Mittlerweile koennte man das Paket mal durch das offizielle Debian-Package ersetzen. Also Ruhe ist jetzt!
