Ah! I see. I have not known this. So, I guess the problem is the probelm
is the bad SCSI stuff in the Linux kernel that you mention below. I have
followed some discussion on that problem ...

But why does it take something like 1 minute? It really seems like that
my DVDrom has to wait until the writer has finished blanking!
Is this different on your system?
