Bug#494009: binary firmware in drivers/char/drm/radeon_microcode.h
Package: linux-2.6
Version: 2.6.26-1
Severity: serious
drivers/char/drm/radeon_microcode.h (licensed under BSD-style terms) is entirely
composed of binary code, such as:
/* production radeon ucode r1xx-r6xx */
static const u32 R100_cp_microcode[][2] = {
{ 0x21007000, 0000000000 },
{ 0x20007000, 0000000000 },
[...]
Since the licensing terms allow redistribution, shipping it is not illegal but
is a DFSG violation.
