Bug#494010: binary firmware in drivers/char/dsp56k.c
Package: linux-2.6
Version: 2.6.26-1
Severity: serious
Hi,
drivers/char/dsp56k.c (licensed under GPL2) includes a small section of
binary code:
/* DSP56001 bootstrap code */
static char bootstrap[] = {
0x0c, 0x00, 0x40, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00,
[...]
Since the licensing terms allow redistribution, shipping it is not illegal but
is a DFSG violation.
