No difference -- still doesn't work :(

I can connect to the iPod and see the songs (in amarok and gtkpod) but when I
try to transfer to the device I just hear the iPod hard drive clicking every
5-10 secs and amarok/gtkpod goes to 100% cpu. At this point I need to remove the
pcmcia card to kill the program.

I'm using a VST firewire cardbus card that has worked for me on linux since
2004. I don't see any dmesg errors about the firewire card (until I eject the
card, then it spits out some complaints).

I tried compiling ieee1394 for my 2.6.24 kernel. I was able to get my camcorder
running with the raw1394 interface, but the sbp2 module didn't work with the
ipod (same problems as with the firewire_sbp2 module).

Any recommendations?
