Bug#475295: linux-image-2.6.24-1-amd64: firewire doesn't work on ipod and camcorder
Package: linux-image-2.6.24-1-amd64
Version: 2.6.24-5
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software
New firewire in 2.6.22 and 2.6.24 does not work properly with older
firewire ipods (hangs after a few data transfers and requires an eject
of the pcmcia firewire card). It doesn't work at all with camcorders
that require the /dev/raw1394 device. According to the ieee1394 site,
the old stack should be used instead. Why was debian migrated to a new
stack when it doesn't work? Will this be reversed in a kernel update?
