yes they have very good devs.
best way is to push it upstream :)

you misunderstood me, the current disabling of xen is not
correlated to dropping that flavour.
xen merged in the kernel will allow it to be build for itself,
that should happen early enough for lenny.
xen has lived up with some hype and even now with kvm and lguest
user will expect it for the next release.

so it would be more trading against vserver,
which has build itself quite a userbase inside of debian.
