Bug#381844: itramfs-tools doesn't produce working ramdisk on amd64 with MODULES=list

i'd like to see that initrd, please put it up somewhere on the web,
or send it me privately.

hmm you didn't share yet the content of /etc/initramfs-tools/modules ??

the root hardcoding shouldn't be necassary, checkout to pass the
right grub root param.

recommended way is:
update-initramfs -u -k 2.6.17-1-amd64-k8-smp
