Bug#341104: linux-patch-debian-2.6.14: dropping EXTRAVERSION from official kernel patches

   1) Crashes seems to result from bad initial defaults at the ACPI
     THRM zone. Solved by setting more conservative values
   2) I finally figure out how to generate exactly the right
     kernel-version and kernel-package:
     kernel-package name is determined once during configure, and must
     be set with the --rev switch (2.6.14-4)
     kernel-version is set at compile time (kernel-image) with the
     --append-to-version switch. 

     So, maybe the kernel compilation procedure should be make a bit
     more explicit about this configure -- kernel-image steps ?
