Some more news:
1) kernels compiled from pristine source + applied debian patches of
debian source resulted in the same name for the kernel image
2) I got a number of crashes (total freeze) with such kernel. The
personnal best is less than 5 minutes :-{. A 2.6.14.3 pristine
(linux patches - no debian patches) does not exhibit this
behaviour, AFAIK (currently stress testing it - no problems)
