Bug#283288: kernel-image-2.6.8: logitech dual action gamepad hangs the boot and the usb bus
Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-1-k7
Version: 2.6.8-10
Severity: normal
File: kernel-image-2.6.8
Tags: patch
Just tried a "logitech dual action" gamepad under 2.6.8
This is a standard usb hid gamepad
If the device is plugged before booting, the boot procedure hangs when hotplug
tries to load the module.
The following message appears when loading the module :
usb 2-2: new low speed USB device using address 4
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: ctrl urb status -2 received
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: usb_submit_urb(ctrl) failed
If I plug it after booting,
the same message appears, and modprobe never returns.
If I try the 2.6.7, I also get a different error message and the gamepad
work well. The problem is the same on Sarge's 2.6.8-5-k7 and Sid's
2.6.8-10-k7
