While I am mostly running testing atm, I did have an upgrade yesterday which
made me unable to open one of my wallets (I think I have both a kde4 and kf5
wallet).
When I downgraded kde-runtime (and kde-runtime-data and plasma-scriptengine-
javascript) to version 4:14.12.3-1 from
http://snapshot.debian.org/package/kde-runtime/4%3A14.12.3-1/#kde-runtime_4:3a:14.12.3-1 both my wallets started to work again.

Dunno if it helps you in any way, but thought I shared my problem wrt kwallet.
