Actually, IMHO, the search is the most powerfull part of aptitude (somehow
similar to mutt). Press L and try these search patterns "synaptic" (without
quotes, of course), or some more advanced "~B" or "~D(perl|python)".
See /usr/share/doc/aptitude/README for more information. Simple search could
done by /.
