Problem - KDVI slow and XDVI fast?

Hi!

My system seem to hang when I try to load a file into KDVI but XDVI works as 
expected.

The problem is similar on to different machines but both have Debian Sid with 
KDE3.1 installed from scratch without any upgrade from earlier versions of 
KDE.

Loading KDVI without any file seems to work correct but loading a file, 
changing the zoom or switching between pages makes KDVI and most of the 
desktop to hang for about 30-60 seconds.

No errors are reported.

Any suggestions are welcome.
