KMail and OpenOffice - would they work together ?

Hello !
I installed Debian Woody 3.01 on a laptop, where i use Openoffice to write 
and print, and KMail for mailing. I like KMail very much.
I'd greatly appreciate to have a KMail adressbook available in OpenOffice
( as database for letters, e.g.) , is that possible ?
 I recognized the export facility, however, the ideal solution would be to 
have ONE adress database for both. 
I only need basics, could be a rather simple sheet...

I fear it's not possible by 'default', though... 
how are perspectives then, does  anybody know if there's somebody working at 
such task ? And else what can i do ?
I'm not skilled in coding, and look for an 'upgrade-proof' solution anyway ...
