On my unstable box with KDE 3.1 installed, root can properly play sound.

All other users receive the message:

	Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device: default can't be opened for playback (No such file or directory)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.

Can any suggest a reason for this? Permissions perhaps?
