What _is_ a reason to remove someone? A package maintained by a MIA would
normally be orphaned. It's easy enough to add the person back when (s)he
starts working again.

checkstyle is maintained by pkg-java, so there is no reason it should
be orphan. But everyone in the group can upload it.

Paul, now that you are part of the group, go and update checkstyle,
add yourself in the uploaders field. Don't forget to follow the few
rules of pkg-java and put your work in the svn repository. Thanks for
your work.

In the specific case of Wolfgang, who did a _lot_ of packaging but hasn't
been heard from for almost a year now AFAIK, can we perhaps agree that he
is MIA and may be removed from Uploaders fields? Would someone who is a DD
run the MIA scripts to check if there is some recent activity?

You don't need to run the MIA script, I know Wolfgang if MIA. I just
can tell he sent me a mail less then two month ago: he is ok but has
no time to dedicate to Debian at the moment.

FYI: Wolfgang is (co-)maintainer for 90 packages, (nearly) all of which are
Java packages.

And did a very good job. Maybe he is one of the best packager we had.
He also did a lot of work to fix upstream bugs (GNU Classpath, kaffe
and so...).

All those packages are maintained by the group. I don't think we
should do specific uploads to remove Wolfgang from uploaders. I also
think we have other priorities. Any way, if another DD second me, feel
free to remove Wolfgang from uploaders field *only* if there is a good
reason to upload the package. Don't do a 90 mass upload only to remove
Wolfgang from uploaders.
