No j2re does not provide javac ;-)

For the alternatives of java:

There are 5 alternatives which provide `java'.

  Selection    Alternative
-----------------------------------------------
      1        /usr/bin/gij-wrapper-3.0
      2        /usr/bin/java-sablevm
      3        /usr/lib/kaffe/bin/java
      4        /usr/bin/gij-wrapper-3.3
*+    5        /usr/lib/j2se/1.4/bin/java

If you  install j2re here is what  you'll get. If you  install j2sdk, it
will require j2re. This is the Blackdown way.
