Modificando a manina e cercando esempi di .gtkrc, ho capito l'errore.
Il GTK theme switch (/usr/bin/switch) scrive in .gtkrc:

include "/usr/share/themes/Step/gtk/gtkrc"
style "user-font"
{
font="-microsoft-verdana-medium-r-normal-*-*-90-*-*-*-*-iso8859-15"

ma così non funziona. In realtà bisogna modificare *font* con *fontset*. Non
so se sia normale o meno. Può essere un bug, o mie impostazioni errate
(ovvero dovrebbe funzionare anche con *font*)?
O hanno aggiornato le lib ma non il gtk theme switch?
