Python è un linguaggio elegante e portabile su diverse architetture. Perl è potente, ma incasinato e intrinsecamente + difficile (nelle sue potenzialità) da implementare per via della complessità delle regex. Persaonalmente consiglierei l'accoppiata python+pgsql
