I think this should be moved to another threat (not RE: Password file with over 3000 users.).
I agree scripts should declare the correct shell, and those which use specific bashisms should use #!/bin/bash.
Some shells ask at install time to use it as sh. So people who have problems with their scripts can install bash and use it as sh.

I 100% agree with this. This is the main point.
Apart from that, the fact that bash becomes the default CAN be discussed, but not because some people have broken minds.
