Strange MAC Address
Hi everyone.
Had just added a new ethernet card into my Debian box.
I've loaded the module 3c59x. No error messages.
Either ifconfig and ip link command manages the interface fine, but the
MAC address is wrong and it can't ping.
The output of 'ip link show eth2' command is the following:
eth2 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF
inet addr:200.164.84.137 Bcast:0.0.0.0 Mask:255.255.255.248
Relevant lines in /var/log/syslog:
Dec 5 14:31:56 firewall2 kernel: eth2: Media override to transceiver 0
(10baseT).
Dec 5 14:31:56 firewall2 kernel: eth2: command 0x5800 did not complete!
Status=0xffff
Dec 5 14:31:56 firewall2 kernel: eth2: command 0x2804 did not complete!
Status=0xffff
dmesg | grep eth2 outputs the same kind of messages.
Googled it and find the problem but no solution.
Any ideas?
