I've started documenting what I've got so far in my Wiki [1].
I've got X.509 working, and L2TP talks but fails negotiating PPP.
I'm using OpenSwan userspace and Linux 2.6 kernel's native IPSec
modules.

I'm trying l2tpd as a LAC (client) and l2tpns as LNS (Server).

I've also got a Unix98 pty patch for l2tpd which I'll be submitting
as a bugreport tonight, since there's no other L2TP LAC I could see
in the Debian archive (neither OpenL2TPd nor rp-l2tpd seem to be
packaged. >_<)
