Woody Snort

Hi guys

I am having problems removing snort from a woody box:

The following packages will be REMOVED:
0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 to remove and 5 not upgraded.
Need to get 0B of archives. After unpacking 386kB will be freed.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n] Y
(Reading database ... 20563 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing snort ...
/etc/init.d/snort: var: command not found
dpkg: error processing snort (--remove):
subprocess pre-removal script returned error exit status 127
postinst called with unknown argument `abort-remove'
Errors were encountered while processing:
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this ?
