If your using virtual hosts check the config carefully...
If you only have the one site, set Document (globally) to the path
of your site...

This kind of thing works ok for me...

ServerAdmin me@ckool.org
DocumentRoot /home/sites/www/psb
ServerName psb.ckool.org
#ErrorLog /var/log/apache/host.some_domain.com-error.log
