Try enabling apm support in you kernel or build a module. This should let your 
computer power itself off. Just make sure that they don't go to sleep mode, 
there are options in the BIOS and kernel apm config otherwise you will have 
the same problem as Dmitry Litovchenko had a few messages previously.
