I've a Notebook with a Xircom PCMCIA Card and have tryed 2.4.18 and

Other boxes with same Kernel and the same Debian Distribution with
various other NIC's have ne problem.
Is that an issue of Xircom cards?
I've got the same problem with Xircom cards. Setting the card in promisc
mode fixes the problem.
Same here :
uwe@diabolo:~$ cat /etc/network/interfaces
# /etc/network/interfaces -- configuration file for ifup(8), ifdown(8)
# The loopback interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
# The first network card - this entry was created during the Debian
installationiface eth0 inet dhcp
up /sbin/ifconfig eth0 promisc
works.
