ipv6 configuration - newbie question



Hi,

I'm new at this and have problems with my ipv6 configuration, hope you
can help me.

>From machine1, i can ping6 the link local addresses of router (eth1 and
eth2), and from router, i can ping6 the link local address of machine2
(eth1).
However i cannot ping6 from machine1 to machine2, even if i've put 1 in
/proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/forwarding of router. My paths in the router
tables seem ok.

Can someone explain me the meaning of the kernel parameters in
/proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/ ? I read somewhere that it should be one for
forwarding and zero for router_sollicitations, autoconf, accept_ra and
accept_redirects for a router config?

Also when i assign site local addresses to all interfaces (which was my
intention), and ping6 from machine1 (eth1) to router (eth1), i see them
arrive at router with tcpdump, but at machine1 i get
"From ip6-localhost: Destination unreachable: Address unreachable",
and idem for the other way round.

All machines are debian with 2.2.18 kernel version.
