I've got an i2000 with a very similar-sounding problem. See #304267 for more details. I still have problems with standard kernels, but with a simple patch I've got a 2.6.17 kernel running happily on it now. How far does yours get before hanging?
That gives me some idea. My machine has _exactly_ the same problem. If this is really due to a kernel build for Itanium2 then maybe it helps installing woody, upgrading and then building a custom kernel from the official sources. I guess that means I don't have to send in a bootlog. What I see is just like this: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=304267 gruss, Dennis -- Don't suffer from insanity... Enjoy every minute of it.
