For what it's worth, we demo'd hw-accelerated FlightGear on several
occasions over the past couple of years.  It used to be tricky to get
a C++ compiler that was working the way FlightGear expected it, but
that should be less of an issue nowadays.  Performance was certainly
reasonable when we tried it.
