Status of D-I translations (was: D-I translations: time to start waking up!)
We're now 1 month after I sent a first "wake up" mail to
debian-i18n. It's time to make a small summary.
> We only have 21 languages that are 100% as of now. This is low.
The number is now 27:
ar ast bg bn cs de el eo et eu fi fr it ja lt nb
pl pt ru sk sl sq sv th tr vi zh_TW
Esperanto, Basque, Slovak, Slovenian, Albanian, Vietnamese,
Traditional Chinese are the new comers to the list of languages for
which I have a proof there is an active maintainer.
Active languages that had at least one update since lenny:
> 99%: be gl nl zh_CN
> 97%: da gu ko
> 96%: es
> 95%: mr
> 94%: he hi pt_BR
> 93%: hu tl
- Gujarati is now 99%. Kartik probably just needs to complete the
final strings here or there
- Dutch will be completed at some moment when Frans switches his
attention to it (but he's been such a great support for the alpha
release that I certainly won't nag him hardly for this!)
- For Danish, I recently got in touch with someone who will work
to complete it
- Marathi climbed up a little bit
- Same for Romanian
- Hebrew got its first updates since lenny
So, at least for these, I think it's safe to assume they have an
active maintainer as well. That makes 33.
Active languages that had *no update* since lenny:
> 92%: bs ca dz hr id ka km lv mk ml ne nn pa ta wo
> 90%: uk
> 87%: am ku
> 83%: kk
> 73%: sr
> 69%: cy
> 60%: ga
> 15%: se
- Amharic climbed up a little bit to 87%
So, the count is now 34.
Prospective languages (not activated in D-I):
> 65%: is
> 43%: ms
> 27%: si
> 24%: br
> 14%: mg te
> 12%: fa
> 09%: xh
> 08%: ur
> 05%: kn
> 02%: hy
> 00%: lo
> 00%: sa
