Quoting Olexandr Kravchuk (sashko.debian@gmail.com): > Hi, > > Ukrainian translation in attachment. Good luck! But deeply broken, I'm afraid.... See my comments to the Italian translators. All of them apply to your file, when it comes at the file's header.... Moreover: > #. Type: boolean > #. Description > #: ../fwknop-server.templates:1001 > msgid "?????????????????????? fwknop ???? ???????????? ?????????? SSH?" > msgstr "" (you'll note that the lack of charset mention lead to all Ukrainian characters being b0rked in my answer) You should not put the Ukrainian counterpart in place of the English strings. You must put it in the "msgstr" part, leaving the English part alone. TO all folks who start doing gettext translations, pretty please use editors that are dedicated to this task. They will prevent common mistakes and all formatting errors. I recommend either KBabel or gtranslator. Using vi|vim without the dedicated PO mode is strongly discouraged. I can't say anything about the PO mode of vim that seems used by some translators. And, again and again, all such errors are easily spotted by using msgfmt as I pointed in the answer to "vince".
