On note:

#. Type: password
#. Description
#: ../firebird2-classic-server.templates:1001
msgid ""
"If you don't enter a password, a random one will be used (and stored in "
"SYSDBA.password)."
msgstr ""

#. Type: password
#. Description
#: ../firebird2-classic-server.templates:2001
msgid "To keep your existing password, leave this blank."
msgstr ""

These strings aren't very clear, aren't they?
The first says: If you leave it blank, a random one will be used.
The second says: If you leave it blank, your old password will be used.

Maybe that should be:

"If you don't enter a password and none is existing in SYSDBA.password,
a random one will be used (and stored in SYSDBA.password)."

"If you already have a password set for SYSDBA and want to keep it,
leave this blank."

or something similar.
