Jutta (cc:) was working on that for Debian-Women. AFAICT, she
has interest in put it inside Debian. She did a lot of work with dict
interfaces. Perhaps we could bring it to life again. I'm volunteer to
help on this. :)

The dict project has its own homepage now at

https://simon.bofh.ms/cgi-bin/trac-ddict.cgi

(there is also a mailing list at http://www.westfalen.de/cgi-bin/ mailman/listinfo/makedict)

Ana, who is in the new maintainer queue, will package the dicts for the next debian release.

To make it very simple to add translations and definitions the format was chosen as it is. People who have been working on the dicts are not familiar with SGML source always. And my personal opinion is, that SGML code and HTML code should be added by a program and not by the translators. But if wanted (create a ticket at the track homepage above, please) I can make makedict.pl writing sgml output, too.

I know, that i should have spend more tine on the dicts last months. But the work for the Debian web pages has eaten all my free time. Now that the web pages are nearly completely valid, the will be more time for caring the makedict project.

The version at debian women homepage was updated by Ana to the latest version.

greetings

Jutta
