Hello,
Imho one of the major benefits of NEWS.Debian compared to debconf notes
is that it is still easy to find and read *after* the installation. It
sits side by side with the other documentation in
/usr/share/doc/package/ instead of being hidden. - This should be
preserved when implementing an extension.
