I certainly can understand this. I'm *retired* and I'm so busy (I'm
fortunate in having a lot of interests) that I can't understand how I
found time for a full-time job.

As I said earlier, I do think that what you are trying to do on this
project makes a lot of sense architecturally (I'm familiar with
Tanenbaum's work and with Minix), and so I will try to help as my time
permits. Right now I'm documenting some software that I wrote over the
last year that my family is using and finishing that has to be my
first priority (playing with Hurd was a diversion -- like most, I
don't always do first things first).
