That looks ok. If I understand you correctly, you can ping the Hurd box
from the Linux box, but you can't ping the Linux box from the Hurd box.
Here are a couple of things to try:
1) Can the Hurd box successfully ping "localhost" and "192.168.1.2"?
Just a start. If this doesn't work, something else is wrong.
2) If you are using packet filtering on the Linux box, disable it and
try to ping Linux from Hurd again. If this makes a difference, then it
is your ipchains/iptables setup.
Do any other network operations work from the Hurd box, or is ping the
only thing that seems broken?
