Interesting, It was NFS. DOH.
Outside of nfs, I can't get it to 'Killed', and ldd returns the linked
libraires:
nick@fugue:~$ ldd test-random
libglib-1.2.so.0 => /lib/libglib-1.2.so.0 (0x01027000)
libORBit.so.0 => /lib/libORBit.so.0 (0x0104a000)
libIIOP.so.0 => /lib/libIIOP.so.0 (0x0108d000)
libORBitutil.so.0 => /lib/libORBitutil.so.0 (0x01095000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x01097000)
libc.so.0.2 => /lib/libc.so.0.2 (0x010b6000)
/lib/ld.so => /lib/ld.so (0x00001000)
libmachuser.so.1 => /lib/libmachuser.so.1 (0x01207000)
libhurduser.so.0.0 => /lib/libhurduser.so.0.0 (0x01218000)
So now to figure out why my translator lined with the ORBit stuff does this:
nick@fugue:~$ settrans -ac foo random-dot-org
nick@fugue:~$ less foo
foo: (system server) error with unknown subsystem
as always,
