Sorry about the mess. There were some consecutive changes necessary and
somehow I managed not to be able to sync them with the cross-install file. I
believe all problems are resolved with the following script:


Unfortunately, I was a little sloppy with the version numbers, so please
refetch these files to be sure to get the latest version.

No, those are not harmful, because we use --force-architecture. They appear
only because we are installing from a non-Hurd system.

Yeah, two problems here. The "dpkg-hurd" invocations in the script are
missing "--force-overwrite" and the grep is missing the "trying to
overwrite". Both are fixed in the latest version of the script.

Alternatively, you could try hurd-19990725 package, which does not contain
/etc/motd anymore.
