glibc packages uploaded
I have uploaded new glibc 2.0.106 packages for the Hurd. You can find
them at ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/hurd/debian/ (or your favorite mirror
site). When I have gotten my changes merged into the official Debian
glibc package, they will be available from Debian archives.
All the bugs that were reported against the last set of packages have
* Install libhurduser and libmachuser symlinks, and add to debian/mkshlibs.
* Hack up sunrpc for the Hurd.
* Put libSegFault.so into the libc0.2 package, not libc0.2-dev.
* Add better dpkg control file information.
Even if you are not a Debian user, you can use a simple trick to splat
the contents of a .deb onto your disk. Just su to root, `cd' to the
directory you want everything in, and type:
ar p /SOME/DIR/PACKAGE.deb data.tar.gz | tar -zxvpf -
I'll soon be updating the GNU Hurd Hacker's Kit to include
instructions for bootstrapping your own Debian GNU/Hurd system and
cross-compilation environment from a minimal set of Debian packages.
If somebody else wants to do this job before I get to it, please let
